Bad news for fans of unnecessary sequels to unnecessary sequels to unnecessary remakes made, unnecessarily, in 3-D to jack ticket prices, as Halloween 3D has been removed from Dimension's 2012 release slate. This, according to a report from Shock Til You Drop. Of course, this is the Halloween series we're talking about, so just because it looks like you've killed Michael Myers doesn't mean that he's not going to stand back up, grab the knife out of his chest, and keep on murdering teenagers.
But like that episode of Lost where Boone dies but Claire's baby is born at the same time (uh...spoiler alert), a sequel to the surprisingly not terrible Chronicle has risen in Halloween's place. Max Landis, who wrote the first Chronicle movie and thought this suit was a good idea, is set to write the thing, according to Deadline. If I may make two suggestions to Mr. Landis, 1) ditch the found footage conceit, which got increasingly hard to justify as the movie went along and 2) find some way to bring Michael B Jordan's character back from (SPOILER ALERT again) the dead, since the movie pretty much ground to a halt after the only teenager who seemed to have any fun with his powers died.
