I would gladly file this one under ‘Too Bad, So Sad’, but I’m
too busy chuckling at Katherine Heigl’s expense to go get my label gun. You
might have the gall to publicly crawl back to the show that made you famous,
but don’t for a second believe that Mama Grey’s
Anatomy is having sips of your tea and sympathy.
This past January, Heigl expressed desire to return to Grey’s (after she realized her box
office career was flopping like a fish on dry land) in an interview with E!,
saying “I really, really, really want to see where [Izzie] is. I just want to
know what happened to her and where she went and what she's doing now. My idea
is that she actually like figures it out, and finds some success and does
really well in a different hospital. She was always floundering you know, and
so she was always one step behind the eight ball and I want to see that girl
take some power back.”
Well Shonda Rhimes might has well have told Katherine Heigl
to lick a bag of rocks when she denounced any and all rumors that the startlet
would be returning to the show after her highly publicized departure from the
show in 2010. “I think it was really nice to hear her appreciating the show,”
she told TVGuide, before confirming that Heigl would not be back on the show: “We are on a track we have been planning,
and the idea of changing that track is not something we are interested in right
now.”
