Watch Blur's Complete BRIT Awards Reunion Performance

Music Editor
On Feb 22, 2012

Blur (a.k.a. the best and most important British band of the last 20 years not named "Radiohead") joined the ranks of The Beatles, David Bowie and others at London's O2 Arena last night—the legendary Britpop quartet reunited on stage for the first time in three years to perform a double-handful of '90s classics and accept the prestigious Outstanding Contribution to Music Award.

When they weren't busy inadvertently cutting off Adele's Album of the Year acceptance speech ("I'll take 'Things That Would Never Happen In America' for $100, Alex."), the band tore through "Girls & Boys", "Song 2" and even "Parklife" with nostalgic glee and spunky energy to spare.

Check out the entire BRIT Awards gig--including the short on time, middle-finger inciting Adele cutoff--below (via Consequence Of Sound).

Acceptance Speech

Sorry, Adele...

"Girls & Boys" / "Song 2"

"Parklife"

"Tender"

"This Is A Low"

Was that a giant spinning Blur doner kebab behind the band? Did Damon Albarn sound a little too overwhelmed to sing some of the words on time? Yes and yes, but it was still beyond amazing to see them on stage playing some of my favorite songs of all time again. A small, teeny tiny part of me was hoping to hear a new song, but there'll be plenty of time for that—the band will be headlining both the Summer Olympics closing ceremony concert and Sweden's Way Out West Festival. (Their long-rumored, beyond overdue new studio album will, fingers crossed, be out soon before or after... hopefully.)
