Just three weeks after M.I.A. flipped the bird at the Superbowl halftime show Adele followed her lead during the Brit Awards in London Tuesday night. M.I.A. had no actual reason for the gesture but Adele came clean right away on why she decided to do it.

Turns out, one shouldn't cut off the bombshell beauty. During her speech she stated, "I am so proud to be British and to be flying the flag," before host James Cordon interrupted her and the bird was set free. She later explained, "I flung the middle finger. That was for the suits at the Brit Awards, not my fans. I'm sorry if I offended anyone but the suits offended me."
Adele can pretty much do anything and fans will probably always have her back. The incident was only a minor dent in the singers evening anyway. According to BBC, the crowd stood in excitement during her entire "Rolling in the Deep" performance and she cuddled with boyfriend Simon Konecki for most of the night.
