This Will Shock You, But A Bunch Of Lacrosse Players Got Into A Brawl With Foot Locker Employees And Police

Senior Editor
On Feb 17, 2012

Every once in a while, we like to remind SportsOlogy's seven readers that lacrosse players are the worst bros in the world, and we're certainly not given to exaggeration here at SportsOlogy. So this Friday evening, we bring you the happy tale of a professional lacrosse team (!) whose players got into a fight with Foot Locker employees. At a TGI Fridays. Near the Mall of America. Oh yeah, this is going to be good.

The AP reports (via SB Nation) that five members of the Rochester Knighthawks -- seriously! -- have been charged after a food fight expanded to include some other TGI Fridays patrons. When an errant menu struck a Foot Locker employee, well, sh*t just hit the fan, and when sh*t hits the fan, lacrosse players will hit you. Especially if you're a woman. Or a police officer.

Speaking of police officers, police were called to break up the melee, and wouldn't you know it, the lacrosse players tried to fight them too! If there is a more insidious combination of entitlement, wealth, violent behavior, drug use, and childishness than the stereotypical lacrosse player, we have yet to see it. Starting a food fight and then trying to beat up police is sooooo LAX. Can't we just ban the sport?

That's what we're advocating, but then we'd have to kick Maryland out of the United States and abolish the ACC. The paperwork for that is simply to much for anyone to handle. So until the sport's culture changes, we'll continue to keep an eye on these ridiculous bros and their shenanigans.
