Most New Yorkers have grown complacent with the myriad of terrors lurking beneath the ground, but for Anna Wintour - a born-and-bred Brit and NYC transplant - the subway isn't an optimal mode of transportation, well, ever. Except for today. And no, this is not the work of a Photoshop savvy trickster.
"Please wait for the train. It's all about the train," Anna Wintour said while she waited on the platform of the Grand Central Terminal, obviously surrounding by a hoard of British photographers and, of course, Victoria Beckham.
The former Spice Girl will serve as an ambassador for the GREAT campaign, a marketing effort launched by Sir Peter Westmacott (Britain's ambassador to the U.S) to increase tourism and the pair, along with a few other supporters, were waiting for a Union Jack-wrapped train to head their way. But the train was late making its way back around, as it so often is. See what us normal folk deal with, Anna?
As WWD reports, those fellow British supports for the GREAT campaign include Keren Craig, Georgina Chapman, Tamara Mellon, Marcus Wainwright, Jourdan Dunn, Karen Elson and Hamish Bowles. Pretty decent company....
