Yesterday, the world went into shock when hearing about the death of Whitney Houston. The cast of Glee, however, felt more spooked out than sad.
As part of the Valentine's Day episode, airing this Tuesday, Mercedes (Amber C. Riley) belts out "I Will Always Love You" while weighing her feelings for Sam (Chord Overstreet) and Shane (LaMarcus Tinker). Now that the sinnger passed away, a producer tells E! that they may turn this into a tribute episode to the Queen of Pop.
But before fans get excited for an episode filled with Houston's hits, they should know this won't be like the recent Michael Jackson episode or the first season's Madonna episode. A producer admits that they are trying to do a tribute, but the episode is locked which adds a challenge. Most likely the show will pay tribute via a card before or after the episode.
In an interview with E!, Matthew Morrison says the turn of events is very "eerie," especially given the Grammys.
"Last year this time I was so excited to actually get a picture with her," Morrison tells E!. "I was so excited about that. I grew up listening to The Bodyguard soundtrack. That was my jam."
Tune in this week to see how Glee pays tribute to the late Queen of Pop.
