Watch: Second City Reacts To 'Phantom Menace In 3-D'

This video pretty much sums up all my feelings about the re-release of The Phantom Menace In 3-D. I mean, is anybody actually interested in seeing this movie? I know George Lucas is probably a maniac who does whatever the f*ck he wants on Skywalker Ranch but I refuse to believe that he's not aware of the fact that mostly everyone hated The Phantom Menace. In fact people hated it so much that the hatred itself became a zeitgeist for a time. And guess what, contrary to popular belief, people aren't stupid. Just because you put something in 3-D doesn't make the movie necessarily more appealing. The Lion King 3-D made bank- you know why? Because The Lion King is a great movie at it's core. Even when I saw Beauty and the Beast in 3-D recently, I didn't go because I wanted to see the 3-D. I went because it's a classic Disney film that holds up against time.

So if Lucas really wanted to hop on this bandwagon, he would've just started with a New Hope and called it a day at the end of Return of the Jedi. Or hey, not even do that. You know the old adage; If you give George Lucas encouragement, he'll want to really f*ck up a great film franchise.
