Though Vogue UK's EIC Alexandra Shulman tried to clear up the confusion as to why hipster-turned-target-of-hipsters Lana Del Rey is on the cover of the March issue, her efforts didn't seem change the mind of (most) readers. In the editor's note she says, "I am many of the thousands of people enraptured by the throaty, seductive voice of Lana Del Rey ... Once I had seen Lana play at a small event in London, I was convinced that she would be a great Vogue cover girl, even though she is probably one of the newest stars in her field that the magazine has ever had on the cover."
Convinced? I’m sure as hell not! Did Lana del Rey (or Lizzie Grant, as she's formally known as) deserve the cover?
