Simon Cowell, please make up your mind.
Riding on the heels of news that Cowell wants Mariah Carey to be the next judge on X-Factor are reports that Cowell wants Beyoncé to be a full-time judge of the show.
Us Weekly reports that Cowell is offering the singer an annual salary of $100 million, which would be the highest TV salary ever paid.
Even though Carey was Cowell's first choice, he is not completely sold on the idea. According to sources, "He wants a big-name female star on the panel. Mariah [Carey] is good, but she's not that hot today. He wants Beyoncé because that would immediately give him the bounce needed to beat American Idol."
The position would be the perfect job for Beyoncé after giving birth last month to daughter Blue Ivy. She could work and stay in the public eye while still caring for her baby with Jay-Z during her first year. She wouldn't need to go on tour and risk being away from Blue Ivy or having to take the baby on the road with her. It really is a win-win for both Beyoncé and Cowell.
With the perks of being close to her baby and still being able to work, judging might have its drawbacks. Reality show judges tend to be second-rate stars who don't might sharing the spotlight with others. There is such a thing as being too big for a show and Beyoncé might be just that. Maybe Cowell should go with his first choice after all because, at least, Mariah Carey will be guaranteed entertainment.
