Jesse Eisenberg and Mia Wasikowska have signed on to Richard Ayode’s The Double. Ayoade, famous for his film Submarine and the television show The Mighty Boosh, co-wrote the script with Avi Korine.
The Double is a based on the classic novella about a man whose world breaks down when he meets his doppelganger. Although it sounds like the thriller movie to me Ayoade promises that it is a comedy dealing with “loneliness and our need to love and be loved.”
The movie will start filming this spring but no release date has been announced.
