There's a story here, and it's a good one: Ascension fan Alan, the hopeful romantic you see in the video, wrote the master designers at Gary Games to seek their help in proposing to his girlfriend Crystol. How did he intend to pop the question? Why, with none other than a custom-designed, one-of-a-kind, promotional Ascension card, sent along with an early copy of the Storm of Souls expansion. When Alan broke out the unreleased set, Crystol thought she and her boyfriend were just playtesting a new version of the game. Little did she know that a greater treasure than honor waited inside the portal deck...
Geek proposals always make me so happy inside. The Ascension website will soon feature the "Engagement" card as a promo, in case you're eager to replicate this Godslayer's epic feat. Much runes and power to the happy couple and to all fans of Ascension as Valentine's Day nears. May we all kill fallen gods, amass teams of legendary heroes, and find love on the fields of battle!
