Matt Walsh, the director of The Hangover and an original member of the Upright Citizens Brigade, released a trailer for his new improv stoner comedy, High Road. The movie stars James F. Pumphrey (Players) as Fitz, a well-meaning drug-dealer whose loyalties are split among his band, his girlfriend Monica (Abby Elliott) and selling weed. However, when a drug deal goes bad he is forced to hit the road amid car chases, guns, broken bones and other hilarious surprises.
I honestly don’t know what to expect from this movie just yet. It seems funny but nothing in the trailer really made me laugh except Horatio Sans as a potential pedophile pediatrician. I think what is throwing me off with this trailer is that I can't tell if these people are great improv actors or was just incredibly baked during the filming of this movie. The one huge benifit I see for this movie is it’s incredible supporting cast that features Ed Helms, Rob Riggle, Horatio Sans, Kyle Gass, Abby Elliott, Lizzy Caplan and Zach Woods. If nothing else, Upright Citizens Brigade movies always have incredible cameos.
Regardless of what I think, here’s the trailer for High Road:
