By now, you've surely heard President Obama's impromptu rendition of Al Green's "Let's Stay Together"—the leader of the free world crooned the opening lines of Green's 1971 classic during a fundraiser at the Apollo Theater in New York last week. Perhaps unsurprisingly, downloads of the original track have skyrocketed since the president's musical debut... by the end of last week, sales have increased by nearly 500%!
Watch President Obama Sing Al Green's "Let's Stay Together"
Yes, our Commander In Chief's singing voice is more popular than many of his domestic policies. It got us to thinking... what other classic songs could President Obama resurrect?
If you're reading this, sir, here are five pop history gems that could use a few extra downloads:
The Beach Boys - "The Little Old Lady From Pasadena"
Bobby Womack & Peace - "Across 110th Street"
Gerard McMann - "Cry Little Sister" [Theme From The Lost Boys]
Eric B. & Rakim - "Microphone Fiend"
Megadeth - "Symphony Of Destruction"
