You guys know YouTube's Freddie Wong, stuntmaster general and geek icon--but did you know that this foremost of VFX wizards just wrapped up an epic quest? Yep, it turns out that, some time ago, Wong discovered an oversized book at his local library that started him on a geek journey like the heroes of old. That book led him to a summit where lay the legendary Fire Flower, the power-up that grants Mario the ability to chuck bouncing balls of fiery doom like a baws. Wong accepted the Fire Flower's powers and raced off to test them, only to find himself in a spot of combustion-related trouble. Have a look-see:
Just goes to show: Be careful with your power-ups, people! It's worth noting that in this clip, unlike in many of his other videos, Freddie Wong went with practical effects instead of VFX--meaning that dude is actually on fire. Wong and co. are trained professionals, though, so don't try this at home. Don't eat flowers at home, either. That's just weird.
