I know that gamers will probably be pre-conditioned to hate the humble ocelot, the newest critter on its way to Minecraft. Why? It's because of the wily Revolver Ocelot, an enduring enemy from the Metal Gear Solid series. I lost the fight to this guy in the first game probably twelve times, and as a result I've come to despise all of ocelot-kind. I do recognize, though, that this is unfair, especially considering that ocelots--even pixelated ones!--are pretty cute. Mojang, evidently, agrees; in the latest Minecraft spotlight, the dev is showing off a new mob based on the real-world animal.
The Minecraft ocelot spawns in jungle biomes. If you want to interact with the ocelot, you can tame it by using raw fish. It's even possible to breed the ocelot if you have fish on hand. Need an example of how best to court the beastie? Check out the video below for a demonstration:
Other features in this snapshot include some switches to skeleton AI and updates the game's language files, but really, it's all about the ocelots.
