You guys remember how, a couple months ago, word broke that Minecraft developer Mojang wanted official LEGO products based on the crafty game? To court LEGO's official support, they created a listing on CUUSOO, a beta site where LEGO fans can propose ideas for new sets. CUUSOO can grant a good idea access to an official review--but the idea in question must first gain community support, to the tune of 10,000 fan votes. You probably won't be surprised to know that the Minecraft LEGOs quickly amassed the necessary votes and then succeeded during a review by LEGO brass.
Does this mean you'll be able to buy Minecraft LEGOs sometime soon? Sadly, my friends, probably not. The official word is that LEGO is "developing a concept that celebrates the best aspects of building with the LEGO system and in Minecraft." No doubt it'll take a little while... Minecraft can be a time sink.
