Hmm… Although HuffPo’s fashion team claim Doo-Ri Chung’s collaboration line with Macy’s “fulfills [their] fashion hankering,” I can’t say I agree at this early stage. Judging by the new photographs they’ve just posted, which feature a bunch of un-styled, extremely basic Doo.Ri for Macy’s Impulse items, the Korean-American fashion designer has decided to play it safe, opting for much of the trademark jersey attire she has became known for (all bar that decent pleather/leather ensemble). To be expected, I guess. But really, HuffPo? Fulfilling your fashion hankering? Okaaaaay.
I’m far more excited about Jason Wu for Target or Karl Lagerfeld for Net-A-Porter or Karen Walker for Anthropologie for that matter. And as much as Doo-Ri impressed us all by securing Michelle Obama’s tick of approval (the First Lady wore one of her designs to a State dinner in October), I won’t be lining up for this one, I’m afraid.
For those of you who will, it's available in store from February 15.
