Resolution Seekers, Meet The Nike+ FuelBand

On Jan 20, 2012

Ologists! How well are you sticking to your New Year's Resolutions? This weekend will mark the third week of January--a statistically significant resolution-ditching date if ever one existed. If you're having trouble maintaining your workout routine, you might be interested in the Nike+ FuelBand. I wish that the phrase "Nike+ FuelBand" referred to one of those animatronic rock bands like you find at Chuck-E-Cheese, but sadly, it's actually a highly sophisticated piece of technology that lives on your wrist and tells you how close you are to your fitness goals. Sweet!

The FuelBand (an update to the SportBand, a previous Nike device) is equipped with colored LED lights that indicate your progress toward your daily goal. The band can measure your activity in either calories or steps, awarding "Fuel Points" for milestones and changing its colored lights from red to yellow to green. The device is compact, weighing in at just 34 grams, and it holds a single charge for four days. That's plenty of time to get your fit on!

Check out a trailer introducing the device:

I'll be honest with you: I'm just going to use this at zombie LARPs to track how well I'm slaughtering the living dead.
