Bon Iver fans excited to see Justin Vernon performing walk-on tunes with The Roots on last night's Late Night With Jimmy Fallon were not-so-pleasantly surprised to see that the multiple Grammy nominee was nowhere in sight. Word broke earlier this week (via Late Night music booker Jonathan Cohen) that Vernon was scheduled to sit in with The Roots during January 19's show, only to tweet late yesterday: "@blobtower and the Roots postponed for today, but watch the Late Night Web site in the next couple weeks for something very cool." Vernon himself confirmed: "Again, roots thing aint happenin'. ;("

Bon Iver Tapped For 'Saturday Night Live' Appearance
Pfff, what a tease!
However, in other Roots/Bon Iver related news, drummer, bandleader, and DJ extraordinaire Ahmir "?uestlove" Thompson (happy birthday, ?uest!) tweeted this interesting tidbit:
"Did a mammoth awesome remix "Perth" jam w/ @blobtower. Best pre bday gift ever. Maybe one day the public will hear it. #tease"

Ugh, c'mon fellas—too many teases for one Friday morning.
Has Bon Iver's Justin Vernon redeemed himself by collaborating with ?uestlove on what I can only presume is a beyond killer new version of "Perth"? Will we be seeing him sitting on that little stairwell next to Black Thought in the near future? Only time will tell.
