Is Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively's relationship going to the dogs?
The duo have been getting serious over the past few months, but their two dogs -- Penny, Blake's Maltipoo, and Baxter, Ryan's golden retriever mix -- are causing relationship problems for the pair! According to The National Enquirer (via Celebitchy.com), Penny "is used to being the center of attention" and doesn't like sharing Blake with Baxter.
"Penny is a real diva and is accustomed to getting her own way," a source says. "She's having a terrible time adjusting to Ryan and Baxter sharing her turf! Blake constantly spoiled Penny and made her the center of her world. Now, with Baxter as competition, she growls and bares her teeth whenever Blake pets or plays with Ryan's pooch!"
At first, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively thought handling the dog squabbles would be good practice for when they have children. (After a few months, they're already thinking about kids? Really?) But they might not get to that point.
"They both love to sleep with their dogs on the bed but Penny wants to be the only pooch in the room. She tries to scare Baxter away. Ryan and Blake spend so much time trying to break up the feuding dogs, when it's time to go to bed they're so exhausted the last thing they think of is romance."
It's really doubtful that Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are spending that much time breaking up dogfights. It is totally believable that Penny is a spoiled diva though. Little dogs tend to think they're tough, so it wouldn't be out of character for a tiny Maltipoo to try to dominate a big golden retriever. Hopefully it doesn't get to the point where either Ryan or Blake has to decide between the relationship and the dog though. Shelters are crowded enough as it is. But it doesn't sound like it will come to that. "Blake and Ryan are really in love...they just wish their four-legged friends would get along too!"
Awwww. I'm sure they can find a way to make it work. Maybe dog training would be a good solution. Good luck, guys!
