Rima Fakih may have won the Miss USA title in 2010 but she doesn't expect any special treatment. Especially when it concerns her DUI case. The Arab-American beauty was arrested December 2011 for drunk driving. If convicted, she may have to spend some time in jail, a far cry from her days luxuriously traveling the world taking photos and representing the USA. She appeared in court yesterday and heard that unless a plea deal is reached, she'll have to stand trial in March.
While she's probably scared about what may happen to her, she's ready to take it like a grown woman. "I made a mistake. No one is perfect and I make mistakes too and I just want everyone in this world to know that I'm just like you, and I'm not trying to take advantage of anything or be treated like anyone else," she told RumorFix. Besides saying that she's just a normal human being that made a mistake, she wants to make sure that everyone knows she's no Lindsay Lohan or Britney Spears. Unlike those two celebrities with well-documented legal troubles, Rima Fakih is humble and doesn't expect to be treated differently. "There are celebrities out there like Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohan who think they can get out of things, like they miss their court date, or they feel like they can get out of jail because they're someone. But I don't expect that, I expect them to see that I am human and I take responsibility for everything I do in my career," she said.
Another way she's different from LiLo and Brit Brit? She has real acting talent! At least according to her. She told RumorFix that her dream, after her legal troubles are over, is to win an Oscar. At least when she's a bona fide movie star, she'll have the resources to get chauffeurs to drive her home after a night of drinking.
