If you've ever sat through a high school geometry class, I imagine you're aware that most of the popular graphic calculators on the market today have some degree of gaming functionality. Back in elementary school, the most amusement a calculator could offer was displaying the number 80,085--but more advanced technology can replicate actual gameplay pretty well. Sure, it's not exactly triple-A fare, but it's more exciting than the quadratic formula, right? Back in my day, the calculator game du jour was called Phoenix; today, it's none other than The Elder Scrolls V: Skryim. (You guys: "What? Skyrim on a calculator? Surely you jest!" Me: "I do not jest, and I'm offended that you would even think that. What's the opposite of jest? That's what I do. I un-jest.")
The creation of YouTube's no9sniper, this pared-down Elder Scrolls nevertheless includes critical aspects of the Dovhakiin experience. Everything from quests to giants to Khajiit are in there, just waiting for a Dragonborn hero to make with the slaying. You can check out links to the program over on YouTube. For now, feast your eyes on some stealthy classroom gaming glory:
Man, this really makes me miss Phoenix. It also really makes me miss Skyrim. The Old Republic, Y U TAKE UP ALL THE TIME?
