A fatal shooting occured last night at the Vancouver hotel where the US Women's National Team is staying during Olympic qualifying, according to the Vancouver Sun (via The Dirty Tackle). One man was killed in what the paper says appears to have been a targeted attack at the Sheraton Wall Centre Hotel, and goalkeeper Hope Solo says that she was saved by the US Women's team yoga session.

This story is particularly disturbing because we had no idea people got murdered in Canada. That really shook us up. We're glad the USWNT is OK, though, because they gave us some truly inspirational sports moments during this summer's Women's World Cup.
The other bits of wisdom you should take way from Solo's tweet is that it's never a bad time to do yoga and you should always avoid Starbucks.
