Kim Kardashian Claims To Have "Intellectual Property" In Old Navy Law Suit

I'm not sure how many people have actually Googled the words "Kim Kardashian" and "Intellectual" simultaneously, but she'll be dammed if you deny her the right so say she has some.

I'm sure you'll remember those Old Navy ads that ran last summer that featured Kim Kardashian look-aliike Melissa Molinaro. As expected, Kim sued the retailer for $20 million, claiming the commercials sparked confusion in the marketplace and violated her intellectual property, but it gets even better: Hollywood Reporter says The Gap (Old Navy's parent company) has hired power lawyer Louis Petrich to not only defend their choice to hire Melissa, but also discredit Kim's reputation entirely - which, considering the imminent Kardashian backlash, is hilarious.

"Petrich has put together a plan that seeks to ferret out Kardashian's true worth as the two sides engage in a discovery process that's expected to take up much of this year," the report says. "Among the documents sought by Petrich are financial records that show how much Bebe and Sears earned by making deals with Kardashian and why Bebe dropped Kardashian. The clothing retailer ditched the reality star about the same time that The New York Times published a particularly scathing review that described Kardashian's Manhattan pop-up store as a "fashion desert."

Despite Kim's less-than-venerable reputation, do you think the defense's case will hold up in court?
