Kelsey Grammer won a Golden Globe on Sunday for his role on Boss. That night, he announced he'll be playing a new role in real life, as well -- father to twins!
Kelsey's wife of 11 months, former flight attendant Kayte Walsh, is pregnant, he announced backstage at the Globes (via Us Weekly).
"I am really looking forward to meeting these arrivals!" Kelsey said.
Kelsey, 56, already has four children from three previous relationships: son Jude, 7, and daughter Mason, 10, with ex-wife Camille Donatacci Grammer of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills; daughter Kandace Greer, 19; and daughter Spencer, 28. The twins will be the first children for Kayte, 30, who suffered a miscarriage in 2010 early in her relationship with Kelsey.
(Side note: Spencer Grammer just gave birth three months ago to a son. How weird is it that Kelsey's twins will be younger than their nephew?)
"[Kayte is] extraordinary," Kelsey says (via People). "She's one of the most loving, amazing, warm human beings I've ever met. She's funny and serious all at the same time. She's an amazing person and I think she'll blow [the kids] away."
The beginning of Kelsey Grammer and Kayte Walsh's relationship was pretty tumultuous -- Kelsey's divorce from Camille wasn't finalized until more than a year after he and Kayte first got together. But after all the drama surrounding his divorce and quickie remarriage, Kelsey now seems pretty settled and happy with Kayte. Hopefully, after their tragic miscarriage, they have healthy babies. And hopefully he's still up for middle-of-the-night feedings at 56!
