Just when you thought Tim Tebow couldn't get any more tiresome, or Jimmy Fallon any more lame, the two of them are back with a vengeance. Last night Fallon gifted the world with "Tim TeBowie," a hilarious mash up of David Bowie's "Space Oddity," as performed by/for a Tebow-saturated world. It's pretty much the best thing that Jimmy Fallon has done since... well, ever.
Just last night, probably about the time that Fallon's Tim TeBowie segment was airing on television, I was listening to some David Bowie while I had a couple of volleys on the Ping Pong table, and my roommate and I both remarked that, though a great song, we generally skip over "Space Oddity" on David Bowie playlists, because you've just heard it so many times.
Likewise, I've trained myself to tune out at least 90% of the Tim Tebow content I come across. Not because I hate the guy -- it's actually quite remarkable what he's accomplished with such a wiener left arm -- but because at a certain point you've just heard too much of it.
But bravo to Jimmy Fallon for effectively reviving two tired subjects in one truly hilarious spoof.
