Rasheed Wallace, big man, JailBlazer, world champion, malcontent, and owner of the sweetest bald spot in sports has reportedly claimed he wants to return to the NBA. Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reports that 'Sheed has the Brett Favre itch, because why the f*ck not? What else is he going to do in the middle of January?
With Kwame Brown And Al Horford Out, There's No Reason To Watch The NBA
The Heat-Clippers Game Was Apparently LeBron James' Defining Moment
Like all good rumors, this one likely will not come to fruition because 'Sheed is 37 and doesn't exactly have a reputation as a hard worker. Doesn't that make you want to add him to your favorite team's roster? It probably won't surprise you to know that Yahoo! says none of the teams they contacted were interested. The reason, according to Wojnarowski, is that teams "wonder about [Wallace's] shape and conditioning after sitting out 18 months."
After sitting out 18 months? How about "during a full NBA season?" You may remember 'Sheed dragging his feet from three-point line to three-point line during his final season with the Celtics, and that was when he was playing the sport professionally.
That said, the Wizards should sign him immediately, if for no other reason than to help him extend his technical foul record. The Wiz can use all the help available to them, and even though 'Sheed would probably rather give himself a hydrochloric acid enema than play for the Wizards, it's worth a shot. Right?
As always, we'll stay on any and all NBA rumors like Russell Westbrook on an ill-advised contested three late in the game.
