Facebook is a social network over which you can connect with the closest people in your life. RISK is a board game through which you can destroy the relationships you enjoy with the closest people in your life. These two pillars of the geek world unite with the release of RISK: Factions, an updated version of the classic boardgame, on Facebook. You can battle for global dominance on the same contested battlefield hiding somewhere in your closet, attempting a mad dash for Australia or South America, as your preferences dictate.
The difference with Factions is that you get to choose an army with its own stats and perks to live out your dreams of conquest. If you're expecting your standard military stock of terrorists and counter-terrorists, think again: Available factions include cats, robots, zombies, and yetis. (Yeti? Yetis?) You've also got bonus cards and such that weren't part of the RISK: Factions console release, so even veterans of that edition have a reason to start a new tour of duty. You can play single player, versus against your friends, or even in a "friendly fire" mode against random Facebook opponents. Sounds good!
I'm a South America kinda guy, by the way. Don't try to win a land war in Asia and have a good time out there!
