And not just the odd Kmart replica, we’re talking about the really tacky counterfeit stuff. The couture advocator last week spoke to a group of US fans about a recent tour through Japan:
“In Tokyo, they have all these stores that have fake Chanel and Versace… And I’m an Italian from New York, so I still buy it. This jacket is fake.”
Insightful stuff given she revealed last July that she had gone bankrupt four times throughout her rise to fame. In fact, London’s Financial Times stated that her Monster Ball tour left her about $3 million in debt. Which didn’t include all the clothes and shoes and hair extensions and you know, giant eggs.
Could it be? Is Lady Gaga a savvy, penny-pinching shopper or do you think it’s a poor attempt at seeming ‘relatable.’ Discuss.
