Barack Obama Won't Let Delonte West Step Foot In The White House

In Obama's defense, this is the smartest decision his administration has made to date.

When the world champion Dallas Mavericks travel to Washington, DC to meet the President today, guard/crazy person Delonte West will be absent. White House security officials, as is their wont, conducted a background check of the players scheduled to attend, and wouldn't you know it, Delonte has a bit of a rap sheet.

Potential Trades For Dwight Howard

NBA Trade Rumor: Howard To The Knicks?

Delonte was caught driving while armed to the teeth and on various medications, but in SportsOlogy's opinion, this should not prevent him from entering the White House. In fact, Delonte West is one of the primary defenders of American values. Right to bear arms? Check. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? Delonte was riding on a motorcycle loaded with guns and medicine, which is PRETTY MUCH THE DEFINITION of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Obama should hold a separate ceremony to honor Delonte West instead of banning him from the White House.

But what does West have to say about this? He was fairly philosophical when discussing the issue with the Fort-Worth Star-Telegram, saying, "That's what happens when you make bad decisions in your life. You can't go to the White House."

Truer words have never been spoken. West went on to say, "I've been [to the White House] 100 times in my lifetime. I live right around the corner. It's the shame the president isn't going to get a chance to meet me. I'm the president of my house."

In a related story, Delonte West is my new favorite NBA player, guns be damned. He also did White House security a favor by giving them the easiest background check of all time. Secret Service probably googled "Delonte West" and said, "Ummmm... no."

That's the easy way out, though. If they gave West the Jack Bauer treatment, we're sure he'd behave:

UPDATE: Apparently none of this is true.
