10 More Artists That Could Use A David Lynch Remix

Music Editor
On Jan 06, 2012

I haven't stopped listening to the David Lynch remix of Zola Jesus' "In Your Nature" (listen here) since it hit the 'net yesterday. The song is so out-of-control good, I got to thinking, who else could really benefit from a Lynch remix? The answer? A whole lot of people. Here's what you should do: log onto Spotify, listen to David Lynch's fantastically weird new album Crazy Clown Time (Ology's Review) and check out my Top 10 list of bands/artists whose songs Lynch should tinker with next:

#1: Marilyn Manson

Sounds Like: Industrial metal cover of an '80s favorite with the Eraserhead baby screaming in the background.

#2: Duran Duran

Sounds Like: "The Chauffeur" as performed by the Twin Peaks dwarf.

#3: Rammstein

Sounds Like: Militaristic German heavy metal with real-life factory machine sounds.

#4: Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Sounds Like: A woman howling because giant rats are breaking cheap wine bottles on her head.

#5: TV On The Radio

Sounds Like: Lo-fi grunge/doo-wop recorded in a suburban city dump. (Compactor solo!)

#6: Lady Gaga

Sounds Like: Crap.

#7: Tom Jones

Sounds Like: Vegas swing music featuring a dead hooker on the xylophone.

#8: The Glee Cast

Sounds Like: American Horror Story.

#9: The Ghost Of Ol' Dirty Bastard

Sounds Like: 36 Chambers-era Wu Tang, strangely enough.

#10: Elmo

Sounds Like: The best/worst nightmare you've ever had.

Using Spotify? Listen to Crazy Clown Time (2011) by David Lynch right here.
