Guide: Hip-Hop Albums To Look Out For In 2012

On Jan 05, 2012

Here’s a list (in no particular order) of some mixtapes and LPs to keep your eye out for in 2011, as well as a few rumored projects that have either been delayed, or hinted at. Sure, some of them might have been scrapped or renamed (you never can truly know *cough* The Lost Tapes 2 *cough*), and there’s surely plenty I’m missing, but for now, this list should hold you down for what to expect this year.

Schoolboy Q – Habits and Contradictions

Big K.R.I.T. – Live From the Underground

Kendrick Lamar – A Good Kid In A Mad City

Fashawn – The Ecology

Black Star – Aretha Franklin

Big Boi – Daddy Fat Sax: Soul Funk Crusader

G.O.O.D. Music Compilation

AZ – Do or Die 2

Homeboy Sandman – Subject Matter EP

Method Man – Crystal Meth

Big Sean – FFOE (Finally Famous Over Everything)

Elzhi – The Feed

Skyzoo – A Dream Deferred

Freddie Gibbs – It’s The World/Baby-Faced Killa/Devil's Palace/MadGibbs

Black Milk & Melanie Rutherford – Searching For Sanity

Here’s some artists we’re SUPPOSED to hear from according to mentions and interviews:

Stalley, Goodie Mobb, Evidence & Alchemist, Nas & Mobb Deep (seems like wishful thinking now), Pusha T, Outkast, Clipse, Frank Ocean, Jay-Z, Kanye West, A$AP Rocky, Freddie Gibbs & Madlib, Freddie Gibbs & Alchemist, Diamond District, yU, Oddisee, 1978ers, Mos Def, D12 (again, wishful thinking)…

There’s plenty more, so throw up anything you know of below.
