I feel like G+, despite the hype, has really failed to hit the mark in creating engagement. Its just too sterile and the only people I know on there are marketers.

Poor MySpace... they were on the cusp of something so huge, and then, flopped. For a while there it was for musicians mostly, but now better sites like Bandcamp exist
