Okay, so there may be some similarities between what the following video is about to share with you and the window installations over at Barneys’ Gaga’s Workshop but really, let’s really give credit where credit’s deserved here.
To the crinkly, old spinster who turns her cardboard Phillips de Pury shopping bag into a paint tin and wears that hideous whitening powder like it’s going out of fashion: you’re awesome ma’am, and I hope I still feel passion for anything like the injustice you feel for Lady Gaga, when I’m your age.
So this artsy high-society-New York type, Colette Maison Lumiere (who’s been big in NY art circles since the 70s), is totally accusing Lady Gaga of stealing her window designs for Barneys much-hyped pop-up store bonanza. She goes so far as to visit the store windows and paints some sort of protests on the footpath in front of the window, signing off ‘Colette the Artist.’
Apparently, taking it up with the team involved in the display, went nowhere:
“Nobody’s doing something about it… so I have to take charge,” she tells the filmmaker, who has turned Colette’s argument into the short documentary below. It’s sliced with images of Colette’s past work.
Do you think Gaga should address this well-respected, totally hilarious nutter? Let us know!
