All this month, we've been taking a look back at the "best" songs of 2011—you know, the obvious favorites, the Top 40 radio fodder, the songs even your grandma was humming this year... the boring stuff. We gave an equal-opportunity second listen to the year's biggest hits, but at the end of the day, we've stayed true to our roots (pun not intended) while compiling Ology's definitive Best Songs of 2011 list. That means plenty of underground hip-hop (both mixtape gems and choice album cuts), indie and alternative rock cuts, and even a saxophone solo or two. While the world at large was walking to work with Rihanna, Adele, or Lady Gaga in their ears, these are the songs that were on constant rotation here in Ology Land.
