'Skyrim' And 'Minecraft' Together At Last

On Dec 23, 2011

Everybody loves Minecraft. How could you not? Minecraft is like LEGOs plus the zombie apocalypse plus an old-school NES, people! It's a geek dream come true, and its official release continues to recieve no shortage of acclaim. Yet everybody also loves Skyrim. If they don't, I will personally drag them out behind Breezehome and give them an arrow to the knee. How do the geeks of the world reconcile these two dueling affections? How does one geek serve two masters? YouTube filmmaker and Minecraft wizard avemagnadude has an idea. To unite the warring clans of Skyrim and Minecraft, he re-created the amazing trailer for the fifth Elder Scrolls title using the Minecraft toolkit. The result--The Ender Scrolls V: Minerim--is worthy of the name Dovahkiin.

A tribute like this is only as good as it is accurate, but thankfully, Minerim delivers the familiar sights from the Skyrim trailer while maintaining its Minecraft aesthetic. I'll probably never get sick of watching Dovahkiin FUS RO DAH that fearsome dragon, especially if I get to see it translated into adorable Minecraft pixels. Now, you get to see it, too! Here we go!

Oh, by the way? When I type that, it's important that you read it in the voice of Toad from Mario Kart 64. This is very important to me. Are we on the same page, here? Good. Anyway, here we go!

Minerim proves that Skyrim and Minecraft can be like 4chan and tumblr--destined for a legendary geek romance. I wonder if someone could make this playable?
