Taylor Swift announced Thursday night on her Twitter account that she would be contributing to the film soundtrack that all Katniss, Gale and Boy with the Bread fans have been dying to see and listen to. Yep, the country singer will be featured on the soundtrack for the more than anticipated film Hunger Games that's due to premiere in theaters on March 23, 2012.
Taylor wrote, "And this is it...the big surprise...Go get it!" #TheHungerGames" Only one hour later she added, "#SafeAndSound is trending!!" The Civil Wars commented this morning, "We wrote & recorded a new song, Safe & Sound with @TaylorSwift13 for the Hunger Games sdtrk! Buy on iTunes!"
The song is of course nothing we'd ever heard before from Taylor but that just means its that much more right for the three book series. 'Safe and Sound' is the perfect title for such a storyline. It's dreary, unknowing and speaks to the deprivation that many have had to endure in the Hunger Games. Odds are that if you've read the books, you won't be disappointed.
