It's about damn time!
For years skinny starlets have graced the cover of high-fashion magazines, making us average sized women feel like s-it. The publications, however, finally realized that curvy women also like designer clothes and decided to put plus-sized women on the cover. Starting with songstress Adele.
Women's Wear Daily reported yesterday that the A-lister may appear on the cover of Vogue's March issue. It was rumored that the magazine booked country singer Taylor Swift to be the cover girl, but thank God that's not happening. According to the article, the publication has contacted top-designers and asked them to make special cover outfits for the full-figured singer for the March issue.
Perhaps, however, the magazine should hold off on ordering the special sizes. After undergoing throat surgery in late November, the star stepped out of her house last week looking like she lost a significant amount of weight. Let's hope she gets her full figure back.
If this goes through, which I pray to fashion Gods it does, it will not be the first cover shoot for Adele. This year, the singer graced the covers of Cosmopolitan, British Vogue and The Gentlewoman, and she looked stunning on all three magazines.
Thanks to the singer and other curvaceous stars like Sofia Vergara and Christina Hendricks, full figures are being more acceptable (and more sought after) in today's society. I can't wait to see the fashion industry embrace more real women.
