So they're making an Angry Birds movie. Let's just all take a second and make ourselves OK with this. Sure, it probably won't be as charming as the mobile game. Sure, Hollywood has a long history of screwing up interactive properties when they make the jump to the big screen. But let's forget all that and hope, for a moment, that the movie will actually be good. I know that might be hard, but I have something that will help: Director Nick Murphy and The Quarter Bin have given the world a wonderful look at the Angry Birds movie that will probably never be. Still, it's awesome, and you best watch it straightaway.
In the Angry Birds movie this trailer imagines, the birds are a sexy team of femmes fatales with their eyes on some expensive Fabergé eggs. They're planning to steal the eggs from a rival gang of pig-mask-wearing hooligans. Two Brits hired by their cousin Rovie (a nod to developer Rovio, no doubt) are caught in the middle of the gang war. It's sort of like Snatch, I guess, only with more birds. Check it out:
I'm pretty sure that in England, "bird" means something sort of like what "babe" means in America. BritOlogists, can you confirm this?
I'm sorry, Ologists. I'm sorry we do not live in a world where the Angry Birds movie will be directed by Guy Ritchie.
