How does a true Dragonborn play The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim? You might imagine, given your vast knowledge of the Gamer people, that the only true way to tackle the challenges of the Nord homeland is dual-wielding tankards of Mountain Dew while wearing a plush Dovahkiin helmet and listening to the strummings of a noted bard. You're right about most of that, GeekOlogist, but I'll point out that it's actually pretty difficult to successfully operate Kinect while holding twin goblets of Dew, delicious as it may be. The device is advanced but dammit, sometimes it needs to know where your hands are before it can swing your sword around or conjure a fire elemental.
It's at this point that you're like, "Wait, wha? Skyrim Kinect?" Yes, my friends, this is a thing, and more importantly it is a thing that is happening. YouTuber and motion control mastermind KinectFAAST (whose handle, I can only assume, is intended to rhyme with "breakfast," which is awesome) has given the world a PC mod that allows Skyrim to be controlled via Kinect. Simple gestures command Dovahkiin to move, while a voice interface operates the menu and allows for quick switching between weapons and spells. The swordfighting looks legit and as we all know, that's how you should judge any motion control device.
Anyway, Skyrim Kinect!
Am I the only one who actually yells out the words to Shouts when I use 'em in-game?
