Yes, this is actually a thing.
Some of you guys are probably like, "My cat is way too indie to dress up as Mario! The fat man's just too mainstream, and his moustache is nowhere near cool enough." My friend, you don't even have to mount your trusty fixie to set yourself up with a more alternative alternative--a Luigi version is also available from SarabiRose. The cat Mario hats will run you just $6.50 and if this did not seal the deal for you, I don't know whether we can be friends. They've got attached elastic bands, for Peach's sake!
If you don't think Mario is the cat's meow--sorry, every post about cats must include at least one cat pun, by order of the NYC Cat Commissioner--you can also add to your cat's evolving Red costume by purchasing a catnip Pokéball. Other cats who mistake your cat's costume for Ash Ketchum will pay for their ignorance! Other cats shall pay dearly.
This is the cutest and nerdiest thing in the world and probably will remain so until someone invents Mario hats for fish or perhaps one for Marcel the Shell.
