I'm not saying the geek community is better than Hollywood.
Wait, no, that's exactly what I'm saying.
You remember how the BioShock movie isn't supposed to be made unless it's good? This trailer, from a YouTube channel called TheBioshockMovie, is good. So can you Hollywood execs go ahead and make it already? The trailer features our man Jack washed up on beach, clutching a doll that resembles one of Rapture's surly armored protectors. The music is perfect, the subtlety is right on target, and, well... it's BioShock. Its power is impossible to deny, mortal!
Watch the fan-made movie trailer right here. Make it happen!
I still maintain that David Bowie's "Life On Mars?" is the perfect song for a BioShock movie, but "Mack the Knife" is way more in keeping with the series' aesthetic, and it makes for one hell of a backdrop here. The simplicity of the trailer's opening, combined with the sheer spliced-together insanity of its last few seconds, artfully encapsulates what made this game a phenomenon upon its debut. The creators of the trailer have left their email address in the info for this video; here's hoping someone with the financial power to fund their dream happens by to work some movie magic.
