To say that I work in an open, laid-back office would be a vast understatement, considering discussions of effective dick pic circulation and polls of various drug experiences by a show of hands are banter of the usual caliber, but I can say with confidence that I'd never show up to work sans bra. Probably.
Last night, The Cut's post of Mr. Newton's nearly nude Italian blogger Eleonora Carisi caught my attention, not so much because she wasn't wearing a bra under her sheer top, but because she wasn't wearing a bar under he sheer top in the middle of midtown Manhattan - Park Avenue, to be exact — for a business lunch. A BUSINESS LUNCH. I'll let that simmer for minute.
As Fashionista points out, commenters were busy questioning the legality of the sheer-top-no-bra look, but as of 1992, women can bare as much of their breasts as they want. Who knew? But when I sent SportsOlogist Anthony Schneck this photo for his enjoyment to censor it apparently with cutouts of Ohio, he wasn't so convinced about the authenticity of the shot — the lack of an audience (or any sign of fellow New Yorkers) outside the Seagram Building in the middle of the day is a little...suspicious. Was this topless photo staged to get us talking? Probably.
Though I wouldn't exactly head to work or any other place where I'd hope people might take me seriously sans bra, I get it. In fact, I envy Eleonora's confidence to take a common runway look at make it her own in broad daylight. After all, it's probably a great negotiation tactic - I'm betting the men that showed up for the luncheon were pleased. Here's the NSFW version for your indulgence speculation. Thoughts?
