I’m going to go ahead and start this off with a confession. Yes, I have the iPhone 4S, and yes, I bought it during the first week of its blessed availability.
The reasoning behind getting the new iPhone is a lot more embarrassing than simple technological pretention, though. I don’t really want to reveal the details, but let’s just say that it involved dropping my old 3GS into a puddle of water as I tried to take a picture of my cat while showering. No, that’s not a euphemism. Yes, I’m a crazy cat lady. See, this is why I didn’t want to get into it.
Anyway, as soon as the phone was in my hands, Siri and I began a torrid love affair. And, despite some sage advice warning me not to, I stayed up all night asking her stupid questions. As in, I got about two hours of sleep on a work night and didn’t even have the excuse of going to a party, or seeing friends, or doing anything even remotely social. I even asked Siri to marry me! But don’t buy engagement presents yet…she says she just wants to be friends. Which, you know, awesome. Getting rejected by an iPhone is a real ego boost, let me tell you.
Which brings me to the topic of this week’s installment of Viral Video Find. Because, my fellow Ologists, CollegeHumor has shown us Siri’s softer side. When she’s not busy breaking my heart, Siri is apparently a gentle soul who abhors arguing, and rather than sitting idly by, attempts to intervene when she’s put in the middle of a dispute. Unfortunately…she’s not very effective.
Maybe this is why she won’t marry me.
