Now that Brett Ratner is gone and Eddie Murphy has quit the hosting gig at the Oscars, the Ology office is wondering who would be an awesome candidate to step in? Granted, no one can really do worse than last year's clusterf*ck with Anne Hathaway and James Franco. Here's who we came up with.
1. Louis C.K.
I think we're all on board with this. Louis C.K. is charming, real, and hilarious. Even though we doubt the comedian/TV star would ever do this, it's worth some internet petitioning.
2. Donald Glover
Donald Glover is already an established actor, writer, and rapper. This would be a great way to get that "youth" group the Academy always looks for, plus he could double it as a plug for his album Camp. By the way, it's extremely hard to choose just one Donald Glover clip.
3. Werner Herzog
Let's face it, the Oscars are already a depressing glimpse into the futility of human existence. Why not let Herzog narrate it?
4. Mickey Rourke
We would all enjoy the dramatic mumblings of Mickey Rourke. Co-hosted by his bird.
5. Ryan Gosling
"Hey girl, if you want to watch the Academy Awards, that's cool. But you don't have to, I know you're in the middle of a really good book right now."
[Side note: Ryan Gosling WITH Josh Horowitz would be incredible]
6. Will Ferrell
We miss Will Ferrell infecting every media outlet around us. He still makes us laugh.
7. Matt Stone & Trey Parker
Ever since these guys admitted that they were high on acid the first time they went to the Oscars, I'm tempted to see what they would do now that they're Tony award winners.
8. The Thing
IT COULD BE ANYBODY AT ANYTIME.
9. Courtney Stodden
All alliteration, all night.
10. Conan O'Brien
I think Conan should have another go.
Also, as I'm about to post this article- Dan Ackroyd. Because of Trading Places. Let it sink in, it's great.
