Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder has a new gig: looking for aliens and UFOs on The History Channel. Let that be a lesson for you, kids—take a ton of acid and ramble incoherently in public for a few years and then you too could have your very own television program!
NME.com reports that the eight-part series, titled Shaun Ryder On UFOs, will begin in Ryder's native home of Manchester. "He'll try to separate fact from fiction and meet odd characters, some of whom make him look sane," reports a source close to the project, "It will be revelatory but funny."
No word on whether Shaun Ryder On UFOs will air here in the states or, in fact, what the hell it's doing on The History Channel, but like Ryder himself, it's best to just not question some of these things.
p.s. If you're a die-hard Happy Mondays fan, or even if you just happened to catch 24 Hour Party People on DVD, you know you're going to want to tune into this. If anyone could find a bona fide alien flying saucer, I do believe it would be Shaun Ryder.
