Despite my role as Fashion & Beauty Editor, I have to confess: I'm not much of a girly girl when it comes to most things. Still, every so often I come across a product - be it something from the beauty realm or a decidedly flawless shoe - that makes me stop in my interwebbed tracks and pour my sartorial heart out until said product is mine. Consider this your entirely biased weekly guide to my favorite things.
Time for another confession: Aside from most beauty products, I'm not reallyyyy going to list the products that are nearing the top of my wish list this season until I can confirm that somebody has, in fact, already bought it for me, solely because I'll be inordinately peeved if I find out one of my loyal Ology readers has purchased the last J.Crew Brompton Satchel in Warm Burgundy, or the final pair of Madewell's Almanac Boots in Dark Olive (7.5, if anyone's asking) and I'm just not emotionally stable enough to be responsible for my own materialistic demise, you know?

So now that that's out of the way, I can shamelessly advertise my newest obsession, compliments of Topshop. I know you're probably looking at this velvet dress and thinking it's largely unwearable into the winter months, but I'd have to contest your fictitious argument - I bought this two weeks ago (you know, when it was nearing 80 degrees, before the 32 degree snow storm plowed its way into the greater New York area) and it makes for the absolute best foundation layer pretty much ever. I paired it with an oversized chunky knit cardigan, opaque black tights and black desert booties and I have to say, I looked adorable. Besides, the dress is only $60, which is much more affordable than most LBD options out there anyway.
Like what you see? Head over to Topshop and pick one up!
