Just after news broke yesterday that Karl Lagerfeld would be ditching his Chanel campaign mainstay in Freja Beha Erichsen in exchange for a duo of ladies — Saskia de Brauw and Joan Smalls, to be exact — it seems Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci has also dumped his muse, Mariacarla Boscono. The most bizarre tidbit of news comes by way of her very commercial replacement: Victoria's Secret Angel Gisele Bundchen. I just..I don't get it.
As Fashionologie reports, male model Noah Mills Tweeted on Saturday, "Going to jamaica tomorrow to shoot with Gisele," and earlier today, Forbes's Anderson Antunes Tweeted, "Rumor has it that Gisele Bundchen shot the Givenchy S/S campaign last week in Jamaica with model Noah." OH SHIT.
If Gisele really is reprising her role as the face of Givenchy for the spring 2012 campaign, it'll be her sophomore appearance — the now-31-year-old served as the face of the French fashion house back in 2000 when Alexander McQueen was still at the helm (check out the images below). I wonder if Mariacarla knows about the heart-wrenching news...
