Kerry Washington has won the role of Broomhilda, Jamie Foxx/Django's slave wife in the upcoming Quentin Tarantino movie Django Unchained. And it sounds like a real doozy. Co-starring in the film are Christoph Waltz (so good in Inglorious Basterds) and Leonardo DiCaprio. QT knew from the beginning that he wanted Washington in this role.

Like Tarantino's other films, it sounds B-ish, sensationlist and totally fun: an exploitation flick about a slave (Foxx) who seeks revenge on hs brutal master, Calvin Candy (DiCaprio), on his plantation Candyland and also seek justice on behalf of his abused wife. Joseph Gordon-Levitt's the latest to enter talks to join the film, probably as a young man who falls in love with Washington.
